Firstly, our kitchen has not been shut down at any point. There has been no order of closure issued by the Colombo Municipal Council or any other regulatory authority.

Recently, guests informed us of concerns related to food-related illnesses. We took immediate action, as guest well-being is always our top priority.

As part of this, we invited the Public Health Inspector (PHI) to carry out a full inspection of our kitchen and food-handling areas. This was conducted alongside an internal audit to ensure all health, safety, and hygiene protocols are operating at the highest level.

Galle Face Hotel is ISO 22000:2018 certified, reflecting our continuous commitment to food safety, operational integrity, and international best practices.
